AIESEC - Hyd collaborates with TSWREIS
Hyderabad: As part of AIESEC India’s global initiatives to provide gender equality and promote leadership opportunities for the girl student, the Hyderabad chapter of the organisation in collaboration with Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) is sending 27 girl students of socially excluded and economically deprived section of society to explore the world outside India for a student volunteer exchange programme from July till August 2018.
AIESEC in Hyderabad has tied up with the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society to facilitate student volunteer exchange programme. Speaking on this occasion Dr RS Praveen Kumar, Secretary TSWREIS said, “We are glad to partner with AIESEC in Hyderabad who is facilitating a programme of student exchange with complete leadership experience for the 27 girls shortlisted by us. These girls are ambitious and smart, and this opportunity would give them an exposure to leadership skills in countries such as Srilanka, Nepal, Vietnam, Cambodia and Poland.
This initiative has been immensely supported by the Government of Telangana. We thank Honourable CM K Chandrashekar Rao and Minister of SCDD, Sri Jagadish Reddy for encouraging us to explore the new avenues. We are extremely delighted with this initiative and look forward to our association with the young AIESEC in Hyderabad Team who has made this possible.” AIESEC is a platform for the students by the students and focuses on issues of personal, professional, societal and global relevance for youth.
Our objectives through this initiative is to provide leadership opportunities to girls to promote gender equality in India, a platform for personal and professional growth, to give opportunities to underprivileged section of our society and to promote cross-cultural learning.
