Kantar’s Global Delivery Centre provides amenities to Puppalaguda Govt School
Hyderabad: On Friday, the annual Dedication Ceremony was held at Puppalaguda Govt Primary School, Rajendra Nagar Mandal, Hyderabad. As part of CSR, Kantar’s Global Delivery Centre, India (GDC-India) adopted this school in 2017, and initiated work on providing basic infrastructure such as separate restrooms for boys and girls, and a RO plant for safe drinking water, in addition to sponsoring bags and books for the children.
This year, in continuation to the above, the school was renovated, and further amenities were planned and implemented. The entire campus was painted with bright colors, creating a warm environment for kids, a playground was constructed, and benches and fans installed in all classrooms. To keep up with the standards of private schools, a well-equipped Computer Lab was also setup in the premises and employees volunteered to train the teachers and help them learn the basic of computers.
To felicitate and celebrate these accomplishments, the ceremony was organised, and the children were distributed shoes, socks and books for the upcoming academic year. Speaking at the occasion, Nirmala Jyothi, the Head Mistress said, “At a point when children were refusing to come to school, and we had to make a conscious effort to motivate them, Kantar came forward to make changes in the way we learn, and this has helped our school’s strength grow over the last year. The organisation has not only uplifted the infrastructure but has also become a pillar of support to us.
In fact, a couple of students who used to go to a private school in the vicinity have also migrated to our school, because they feel that they have all the amenities they need. I’m grateful to Kantar for making this happen, and I hope that this journey continues.” In order to encourage and entertain the children, dance and music performances were organised by the employees. Taking the stage and setting it on fire were the children who danced away to glory at the sound of the beats. Expressing his views on the accomplishment, Shameel Sharma, Managing Director, Kantar’s GDC-India, said “It is overwhelming to see the amount of work that has gone into making this change possible. I don’t think we could have achieved this in the absence of the constant support and management from the school.”
Speaking on the occasion, Sarath Reddy, Sr Vice President, Kantar’s GDC-India, said “As an organisation, we believe in helping people, and are always connected to reality. That said, it was important for us to ensure that we get on ground zero and make things happen, so these children face their education differently. We will continue to support the school in all possible ways, and make sure that their requirements are all dealt with.” With a 14-lakh contribution from employees, the school was transformed into a place that welcomes over 130 students each day, and the support from Kantar Karamveers, the CSR committee of Kantar’s GDC-India, will continue in the months to come.
