Investiture Ceremony held at DPS Nacharam
Students of today are the visionaries and torch bearers of tomorrow. The Investiture ceremony is a solemn occasion where the young students are all prepared to don the mantle and discharge the responsibilities entrusted upon them. The Investiture Ceremony of DPS, Nacharam for the academic session 2018-19 was held on Saturday in a distinctive ceremony at the school premises with a high degree of passion, earnestness and fervor.
The event was presided over by our Honorable Chief Guests Shri NVSS Prabhakar – MLA, Brigadier P K Sharma Commandant AOC Secunderabad, Chairman M Komaraiah, Director Pallavi and Principal Sunita Rao and Vice Principal Nandita Sunkara. The dignitaries present took the Guard of Honour and salute in an open jeep. The contingents comprising of 1500 students representing NCC cadets, Scouts and guides, 4 houses Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and Topaz, CAIE along with the color party marched with grandeur to the music played by the Army band.
The student council members who were elected by the students through online nominations and online voting were administered oath and were bestowed badges and sashes. The newly elected 383 student council members of the entire school pledged to work solemnly and live up to the school motto – “Service before self”, with the best of their gusto, character and competence. The Head boy Lavnik Balyan and Head girl Shalika shared their thoughts in their maiden speech upon taking up this valued responsibility.
This occasion also witnessed the adulation of the academic achievers of grade X and XII of 2017-18 with mementos and cash prize. The teachers who kindled these young minds to achieve the extraordinary results in the CBSE Board, AISSE & AISSCE Examinations were also felicitated. The office bearers were encouraged by an inspirational speech by our Chief guests who emphasized on leadership and the need to have social and environment awareness.
In his address, the Chief Guest also appreciated the efforts by the school for providing this platform to the aspiring leaders. The programme culminated with a “Futuristic Dance Beats”. Geetika NCC Cadet, the pride of school who represented school and state in Republic Day Parade was also felicitated along with students and staff having 100% attendance.
