GITAMITES donated 237 units of blood
Hyderabad: National Service Scheme (NSS) Units of GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad organized a blood donation camp at its camps on Thursday in association with Lions Club of Hyderabad, Jubilee Hills. About 237 students along with faculty and staff have donated blood in the camp. Lions Club arranged fruits, soft drink for the blood donors.
Prof A Sreeram has inaugurated this camp and said that “Blood donation is a noble cause and every blood donor has contributed towards community development. We will continue to associate ourselves with the Lions Club for such initiatives in the near future.”
A team of doctors from Rudhira Blood Bank of RTC Cross Roads, Hyderabad took the 237 units blood. The doctors checked the hemoglobin of the students, faculty and staff before they donated blood. The students were given away certificates. Many students expressed their happiness to donate blood for the needy. NSS Coordinators P V Nagendra Kumar, Bala Siddulu Malga, Bijaya Ketan Sahoo, K Naga Soujanya also took part on this occasion.
