ATCOTE conducts graduation ceremony
Hyderabad: Air Traffic Control Officers Training Establishment (ATCOTE) of Air Force Academy, Dundigal, Hyderabad, conducted Graduation ceremony on Saturday in the form of Valedictory at Air Force Academy to mark the successful completion of 130th Air Traffic Surveillance Services (ATSS) course. The course comprised 18 Officers of the Indian Air Force, 5 from Indian Navy, and One each from Indian Coast Guard and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. The Officers received 12 weeks long professional and theoretical training on Air Traffic Surveillance Services procedures and practical training using radar simulators of ATCR-33S and PAR-2080C.
Air Vice Marshal G Amar Prasad Babu, Deputy Commandant, Air Force Academy graced the occasion as the Reviewing Officer for the graduation parade. In his address, Air vice Marshal Babu exhorted the graduating Officers to use the freshly acquired knowledge and skills towards enhancement of aviation safety and professional excellence.
Air Traffic Control Officers’ Training Establishment is the only ATC training institute in India which trains officers from Indian Defence Services, Indian Coast Guard and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. In addition, military Officers from friendly foreign countries are also trained. While speaking at the occasion, Group Captain RV Ramkishore, Chief Instructor, and Air Traffic Control Officers’ Training Establishment said, “Every course adds to the professional pride of the services, hence, every valediction is a proud occasion for Air Traffic Control Officers’ Training Establishment.”
He assured the Reviewing Officer that the Officers graduated have been sufficiently trained to shoulder the mantle of military radar controlling in the field. Flight Lieutenant MoU Bhattacharya was adjudged first in the Order of Merit and Best in Theory. Flight Lieutenant Deepak Singh as Best in Practical and Lieutenant Commander Niati Hirway as the Most Promising Trainee were declared in the function.
The Course Officers were awarded Certificates and Officers with distinctions received Trophies.
