Water pipeline works nearing completion

Patancheru: The mega drinking water project, a collaborative effort by the government with Mission Bhagiratha, got Rs 70 crores sanctioned for its completion in the 113 division of Patancheru. About Rs 11 crore out of the 70 crores has been used on the reservoir, while Rs 59 crore would be used to lay pipelines. 

As per the promises made by the government to establish 5,000 pipelines connections in the region, about 3,800 connections are already given, 1,200 are to be given within next 20 days

The project has covered Shanthinagar, Sriramnagar here so far. The pipeline works have been underway since May 2017, with May 2018 deadline to cover the rest of the areas.
As per the promises made by the government to establish 5,000 pipelines connections in the region, about 3,800 connections are already given with 1,200 yet to be given within 20 days.

Patancheru Corporator Netti Shanker Yadav said, “For Mission Bhagiratha, the government has decided that all the households should have ample drinking water. The work has almost come to an end, we have the deadline till March 2018.”

Expressing the difficulties faced by the public to access the services, G Kavitha, a resident of Chaitanyanagar said, “Recently we have built a house here, they have given the pipeline connections, but we need to go to the water board to get approval and application should be submitted to complete the waterworks.”

Resident M Sumithra rather feels hopeful about the project, “Earlier we use to get the polluted water from the drainage water pipelines that were just beside the water pipes. Now we are getting the new connections so that we will not get any polluted water anymore.”
