Thousands of school students likely to visit Hyd Book Fair
Uppal: Books are harbingers of social change, observed State BC Commission Member and Hyderabad Book Fair president Juluru Gowri Shankar here on Thursday.
Addressing a meeting of the Private Schools Managements’ Association, with Dr P Ananta Reddy in the chair, Gowri Shankar stated that thousands of school students would visit the Hyderabad Nation Book Fair to be organised from January 18 to 28 at Telangana Kalabharati (NTR Stadium).
He urged the private schools’ managements to ensure that they send their students to the fair, in which over 300 publishers are participating.
Gowri Shankar said books related to children’s literature would be available in English, Telugu and Hindi at the fair, as also books on all sciences.
He revealed that 10 lakh book-lovers had visited the fair last year, while appealing the managements of schools in Hyderabad city and its surrounding to avail themselves of the facility at the fair. Among those present at the meeting were Adviser to the Association Lakshman Rao, P L N Reddy, Ganga Raju, Ravindra Rao, Jaipal Reddy.
