IFS Officers successfully complete training programme on PPP
Jubliee Hills: A training course on Public Private Partnership (PPP) for Indian Forest Service Officers from across the Country, sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, Government of India, and conducted by Management Development Center (MDC) of Dr MCR HRD Institute, Government of Telangana has been concluded on Friday. B P Acharya,IAS, Special Chief Secretary to Government & DG, Dr MCR HRD Institute of Telangana gave away participation certificates to the IFS officers.
A P Sawhney, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & IT, Govt. of India, who graced the valedictory function of the training programme, said that the PPP model has got great potentialto empower the country to compete with the developed countries at the global level. “The PPP model, which is based on the principle of utilizing the respective strengths of both Government and private sector, is the most effective vehicle for the multifaceted development of the country”, he stated.
B P Acharya, IAS said that there is a pressing need to build up a national consensus among all pillars of society, including Government, judiciary, media, etc. to use the PPP model for development in all walks of life. He called for greater coordination among all the departments of Government in order to make PPP projects a great success.
“While protection of forests and wild life is important in its own right, there are multiple opportunities of undertaking PPP projects by the Forest Department”, he stated and called upon the IFS officers to utilize the knowledge gained in the training program to plan PPP projects in their respective domains.
