Physical fitness key to mental health

For youngsters to be successful in India’s composite culture, they must be psychologically strong and spiritually gleaming”, said renowned US based psychiatrist Dr. Khutbuddin Mohammed.
Addressing young minds during a seminar on “How to Fight Fear in Competitive Times” at Media Plus Auditorium, Dr. Khutbuddin, a close aide of legendary boxing champion Muhammed Ali for nearly 30 years, pressed upon the need of physical fitness for mental health.
He said “whatever the challenge or fear, a healthier mind can overcome it’ if dealt with openness of thoughts, curated consumption of good literature and exercising diligence and professionalism in dealing with others.
He advised youngsters to embrace “physical fitness as an inescapable routine for a healthier and fearless lifestyle”.He advised the youngsters to embrace only the good aspects of social media while ignoring the negative aspects. Too much consumption from social media, irrelevant feeds in particular, can be detrimental to mental health, he warned.
Program coordinator Telangana State Minority Study Circle Khaja Tehvar, psychologist Lavanya Anjum, Chief Editor of Gawah Urdu Weekly Dr. Syed Fazil Hussain Parvez, exegist of Noble Quran Abu Sayeed and others were also present on this occasion.
