International meet at Osmania University

Osmania University: The International Conference on “Indian Literature as World Literature: Past, Present, Future” began at The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad. The conference was declared open by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ali Riza Moosvi and the keynote address was delivered by Prof. 

Graham Huggan, Chair of Commonwealth and Post-Colonial Literature at University of Leeds, United Kingdom. Prof. Huggan’s address titled “Re-Evaluating the Post-Colonial Exotic” brought into focus the re-presentation of various aspects of literature, culture, and society of once-colonized countries.

He emphasized how the writers from these countries are representing the culture and society which were considered “exotic” and repositioning the subject and aesthetics of post-colonial literature and culture.  The conference statement was delivered by the Coordinator, Prof. N. Rama Devi, Dr. Chinna Devi welcomed the guests and Dr. Jibu Mathew George gave the vote of thanks to all the delegates and participants.
