International meeton literature
Osmania University: Second day of the three-day international conference “Indian literature as world literature: Past, Present and Future” being held at the English and Foreign Language University, began with a plenary talk titled “Interpreting an unnatural Nation for the world: ILET” by Miri Krishnan, editor – translations of Oxford University Press, here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mini Krishnan gave her insights on the importance of a stranger understanding between academia and the publishing world and relevance of the translations in Indian literature. The session was followed by an enriching and academically invigorating panel discussion chaired by Prof D Venkat Rao wherein leading scholars like Prof GrahamHuggan, Prof Vinay Dhauwadkar, Prof AparnaDhauwadker, Prof Vijaya Kumar, Mini Krishnan, Prof Nageswara Rao and Prof Rena Desai spoke about Indian and postcolonial pieces of literature.
