Chittaramma Jatara commences
Gajularamaram: The annual Shri Chittarama Devi temple festivities commenced with great piety and grandeur at Gajularamaram, here on Sunday. Hundreds of devotees thronged the temple premises from the wee hours of Sunday morning to get the blessings of the deity. Keeping alive the State's tradition, women offered ‘Bonalu’ to the goddess on the occasion.
As part of the festivities, people took Parikramas around the temple with a wish that Goddess Chittarama Devi would fulfil all their desires. Heavy security arrangements were made by Jeedimetla Circle Inspector to ensure the safety of the devotees. Balanagar ACP Govardhan Reddy paid a visit to the temple and took the blessing of the deity.
Temple committee Chairman Anthaiah Goud shares that the jatara holds a lot of value for the devotees who have been visiting it from the past 35 years and that one can always experience the Sankranthi vibes in these annual festivities. Over 3 lakh devotees participated in the jatara including MLC S Raju, former MLA K Srisailam Goud, Gajularamaram Corporator R Seshagiri.
