Potholes, big risk to motorists

 Serilingampally: The roads at Chanda Nagar are turning from bad to worse and the common man has to think twice commuting on it, laden as it is, with multiple potholes on the road. Primarily the areas near Chanda Nagar, Chennai shopping mall and PJAR Enclave road have been dug up for water pipelines. The work has been lying by the road, incomplete for months.

Regular commuters travelling through Deepti Sri Nagar Colony, Shilpa Enclaves, Manjeera Road and Tara Nagar have had extreme difficulties navigating through these routes. The potholes are nothing short of a nightmare as this region is prone to minor accidents.

P Praveen, an auto driver from PJAR Enclave road said that driving in this road was very dangerous owing to the many potholes. The source further says, with the sewage water leaking in the locality, one has to be extra conscious to stay safe. “The roads here cause minor accidents. Driving in this area has given me a backache for a week. Hope the officials take steps to repair this road.”

A retired employee, G Srinivas from Shilpa Enclaves said, “These roads are in a pitiable condition, walking in the peak hours is a true challenge. We are tired of informing the officials of GHMC.”
