Home guard clears debris to restore free flow of traffic

Chandrayangutta: It is a rare sight to see a policeman going out of his way and cleaning up debris on the road, but this is exactly what Daya, A home guard of Falaknuma Traffic police station did at the Chandrayangutta road here on Thursday. 

A water pipe broke in the morning hours which resulted in flooding the road and bringing traffic to a grinding halt. Garbage that accumulated in the crevices of the cement blocks caused problems as water accumulated on the road.

Daya who was on duty, immediately took sticks and cleared the garbage and within no time the traffic flow was restored. Mallick, a passerby appreciated the gesture so also others who were passing by.

Daya said that it was not a big deal. He added, “Traffic had come to a halt and as there was no help and most of the people were in a hurry to reach their destinations, I just on impulse took a stick that was found nearby and cleaned the debris.”
Locals made a represenation to the HMWSSB officials to repair the broken pipe.
