Weeklong celebration of Republic Day

Keesara: Republic Day at St Andrews School, here was a weeklong celebration. The festivities kickstarted with various competitions for students. For students of classes four and five, a ‘Collage making competition’ themed as ‘India through my eyes’ was conducted. The students of Classes four, five and eight participated in a Republic Day themed ‘Poster making’ competition.

Each student showcased their artistic skills in the poster making competition. The theme of the poster making competition was ‘My dream for India’. Students also performed Hindi and Telugu Street plays.  The Indian Tri-colour was hoisted high by the Vice principal and Head girl, followed by singing national anthem. 

Principal Renuka Masih administered the pledge and the Head boy read the ‘Preamble to the Constitution’. A few students shared some interesting facts about Republic Day. This was followed by the nightingales of the school participating in an Inter-House ‘Patriotic Singing competition’.
