R-Day: Collector flags off two-wheeler ambulances
Medchal: At the grand Republic Day celebrations here, Malkajgiri Collector Dr M V Reddy unfurled the tricolor and received salute at the police parade. Cultural items presented by students highlighting national integration and culture were well received by the audience.
The collector, who released two-wheeler ambulances, presented commendation letters and mementoes to freedom fighters’ families, meritorious employees, bankers, media representatives and sports persons. He handed over letter of Rs 11.53 crore loan sanction letters to women SHGs. Reddy went round the stalls highlighting development and welfare. Among those present were Joint Collector Dharma Reddy and officials of various departments.
While outlining the welfare measures implemented by the administration, he stated that 71,000 families were depending on farming in 78,000 acres. Steps were being taken to provide them digital pattadar passbooks by March this year. Crop loans of Rs.45 crore were sanctioned during both kharif and rabi seasons.
According to Reddy, SHGs were provided bank linkages of Rs.207 crore. Pensions of Rs.12 crore were given to 105,109 beneficiaries. Students belonging to SC, ST, BC and minorities were sent abroad for higher studies spending Rs.15.80 crore. As many as 2,123 subsidised sheep units costing Rs.26.54 crore were distributed.
