Sunday market gains popularity

Charminar: The famous Sunday Market (Itwar Bazar) near Charminar was flooded with a large number of buyers this Sunday and it was unusual during past few weeks.

Hundreds of people were seen buying things of their choice in the wee hours when the market just started. This temporary weekly market is a place where most of the necessary items are sold.

From hardware to utensils, decorative items to old coins, bicycles, tape recorders, gramophones, artefacts and necessary tools are being sold here. 

The number of visitors flocked the market buying different things. Abdul Hakim from Nizamabad was searching for some ornamental things said that it was the best place to find different necessary items at cheaper prices. He said, “I bought watches, lamps and other decorative items from the market. The market adds glory to the historic Pather Gatti area.”

Following the growing number of buyers, vendors in the market have expanded the business to parts of different vehicles, clothes, crockery and other household items. However, many people come here to buy old books, coins and artefacts every week.
