Birth anniversary celebrated

Malkajgiri: Marking the 155th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, a grand rally was taken out by students and colony welfare associations living in and around Jyothi Nagar, here on Monday. As a part of the programme, participants took on the streets of Mallikarjuna Nagar, Gautam Nagar, Hanuman Nagar etc and raised slogans reflecting the words of the great saint to the people. 

The rally was concluded in Safilguda along the banks of Mini Tank Bund where a recital programme was arranged by the Sri Manidweepam Charitable Trust in which scholars and priests spoke at great lengths about the values promoted by Swami Vivekanand through his literature. MLC N Ramachandra Rao attended the event as the chief guest.
