Lingampally: Corporator   Sindhu  Reddy  won by 168 votes in  the Corporation elections from Bharathi Nagar Division on a TRS party ticket.  She has taken up development work with the help of donations in her division as there has been no proper financial help from GHMC time and again.

Talking to The Hans India Sindhu said ‘Recently we had a meeting with Irrigation Minister Harish Rao and the Mission Bhageeratha project is now extended to some areas. Bharathi Nagar includes two circles - Patancheru and some part of Lingampally.

There was a water problem issue in Bharathi Nagar and Lingampally we have taken the initiative   and have  implemented six to seven RO(Reverse Osmosis), water plant projects in that area. I have done with the help of donations and  with the   help MLC P. Bhopal Reddy (father-in-law of Sindhu Reddy), by that we have overcome the problem of water issue in the last summer.

GHMC has also helped for roads, drainage, community halls and senior citizen bhavans. Last year February -5th , we have celebrated the one year anniversary by publishing about the projects  which we  have done . We are also going to do the same for this February 5th  on our second year completion’she added.

Talking about women’s safety in their area she said," For women safety we are doing special patrolling, for women empowerment we have tied up   with the ALEAP (Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of Andhra Pradesh). Under this association, we have taken many programmes’she informed.

‘Afew days back  IAS officer Shailaja Ramayyar attended as a chief guest for one programme. It’s a free training programme for women and they will get certified by NABARD.

With the help of this training, they can work at any place or they can start their own business (also get loans for business). We are going forward from the basic requirements and will move on step by step and we are focusing on only division development.

Almost 6 -7 old parks were developed and now we are  planning for three public parks to be sanctioned. We are satisfied with the GHMC, but we have an issue with sanitation workers. On Jan 6, Harish Rao conducted a meeting here. Overall 3000 people have attended the meeting and the public were happy with the development what we have achieved for our division’ she informed.

“Sindhu Reddy has done good work for our division. Whenever we approach her regarding civic issue, she took immediate steps for us, so that people should not face any kind of problem. When we had water problem, GHMC didn’t sanction the budget, our division corporator  collected the donations and implemented  RO water plant” said Supreeth, a resident of Bharathi Nagar.
