World Wetlands Day celebrated at Zoo

Bahadurpura: More than 100 students from different schools participated at the World Wetlands Day celebrated at the Nehru Zoological Park (NZP) here on Friday. For several years, the NZP has been celebrating the day and also conducting drawing and essay writing competitions.

This year children were asked to draw ponds and wetlands. The students came up with imaginative drawings and most of them reflected the degeneration of wetlands.  Students from five schools took part in the competitions.

Shivani Dogra, curator, NZP distributed the consolation prizes and prizes to the winners. Speaking on the occasion the she said that, Nehru Zoological Park is in the fore front in promoting the Wildlife awareness programmes. She congratulated all the winners who won the prizes in the competitions. 

M Laxman, asst curator and, public relations officer Haneef were present on the occasion.
