Illegal cellar constructions thriving in AS Rao Nagar division

Kapra: Although illegal cellar constructions are taking place in A S Raonagar division of Kapra circle municipal officials remain indifferent.  

Their casual approach is evident when they turned a blind eye to the digging of a huge cellar in Maheshnagar behind Swagath Grand Hotel. Taking a dig at the civic officials, local residents wonder who would take responsibility if people fall into the pit. 

They point out that such constructions not only cause a loss to the government exchequer, but also lead to officials and people’s representatives resorting to corrupt practices and  encouraging illegal construction activities.

Meanwhile, there appears to be no change in the attitude of the staff in the Kapra municipality despite a new officers assuming charge. The staff is allegedly encouraging illegal constructions for monetary considerations. When questioned, the staff members maintain that either such constructions have not come to their notice or claim that notices have been issued to persons resorting to unauthorised constructions.
