For three years, this park is a victim of apathy
Jubilee Hills: It looks like problems in the city parks are never ending. A park at Jubilee Hills - New Bramam High School- is turning bad to worse with lack of facilities and maintenance and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials have been turning a blind eye towards the problem.
This park does not have proper lighting, toilets and seating arrangement, while the lake in park is filled with garbage, water hyacinth which is leading to unbearable stink.
A jogger Veena said that “Being a regular morning jogger at this park it has become a scene daily wherein I have to pass by this lake.
Stink flows throughout the park which is not good early in the morning. I think the GHMC officials must at least be considerate about people who use this park more often and maintain these parks on regular basis”.
Another jogger Sathi said that daily walk is becoming a tough task since the stink emanating from the lake is unbearable. Several complaints have been given to the civic authorities by the locals and walkers, but no action has been taken. She said that the stink is increasing with each passing day. The lake has also become a hatching place for mosquitoes and polluting the locality.
A security guard at the park said that when compared to earlier the condition of the park has turned worst with no proper facilities. He said that there are a very few joggers who come to park because of the stinking smell from the lake. From past three years the lake has not been cleaned and every day residents throw garbage, plastic bags and other waste material into the lake, he added.
