Hire a cycle for one rupee every half an hour!

 Madhapur: Trin Trin,  city’s Public Bicycle Sharing System has  started a cycle rental  service for the first time in india for just for one rupee at Hyderabad  to combat the ever- surging levels of pollution in the city. PEDL, is a smart, affordable and environmentally friendly cycle sharing service for short trips around the city. This cycle rental promotes green vehicles and a healthy lifestyle.

Overall three hundred cycles were set up in IT hubs. Now they are planning to extend it from 300 bicycle to 3000 bicycle in the city. They charge one rupee per half an hour. These bicycles are GPS enabled, through which they can track the cycle location and it gets automatically charged through solar power plates which is located near bicycle basket. If the bicycle is 100 per cent charged then it can be used for month. 

The process of getting a PEDL bicycle rental station is just to login into the website and link one’s Paytm wallet to the account.  One can unlock the bicycle through the mobile, scanning the QR code which is placed at the rear mudguard of the cycle, when its unlocked  you get a buzzer sound.

The bicycle is designed in a such a way that its automatically get locked once the time is completed for the amount one has paid . The payment system is linked with Paytm , if  you still want to continue your bicycle ride  then  directly it deducts one rupee from  the   Paytm wallet.
  
The best part of this bicycle is pick and drop at anywhere you want. if you pick up a cycle from  point C , you can drop it to point Z as well .  It’s an on - demand service you can pre- book it.

 Speaking to The Hans India,  Karthik, Coordinator of Zoomcars said " every day we give 650- 700 bicycles for rent , now we  are planning to extend  3000 bicycle which is under process. During the weekends mostly IT employees book the bicycles and crowd will be around 900 people.  We are planning to spread all over Telangana".

"Zoomcar has come up with an initative step by providing  bicycles  for rent. I need to just pay one rupee for half an hour ride which is an amazing thing and through this, we can bring green revolution in our city. I often come during then weekends with my friends and enjoy the bicycle ride said by Hampi Gudla, an IT employee."
