Mallapur to get new CC roads

The bad roads that have been troubling the people in the area, are going to get facelift as funds are already sanctioned

 Mallapur: The Mallapur division is all set to have new roads in and around its junction. The bad roads that has been troubling one lakh residents of Mallapur for more than a decade now, are going to get a facelift.

Yadagiri Rao, Deputy Commissioner of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation told The Hans India, “The construction of these roads is going to reduce the traffic jam in the whole division by 50 per cent. Many cases related to accidents and traffic jam were reported in the areas due to bad roads. With the new roads, all these problems will come down drastically.”

“The total cost of the project is about Rs 40 lakhs and would be funded by theGreater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Department. The amount has been sanctioned, we would convene a meeting very soon for discussing the commencement of works”, added Yadagiri Rao.

In the meantime, there was mixed reactions from the people in the area. Speaking to The Hans India, Krishnakanth Reddy, a private sector employee said he can think of going home on time from office. The bad roads have also caused lot of damage to the inner parts of my newly bought car.”

K Madhavi, a house wife says, “Everybody has been talking about the new roads, but I am really not sure when the works are going to start, or the roads are even going to come up or not.”

S Keertana, a government employee and local told The Hans India, “Once when these roads come up, I can allow my children to go out to play with their friends in the colony and need not get worried when they are outside and come home late.”

When asked about how much time, it would take for the construction to finish, Yadagiri Rao told The Hans India, “The construction will start within a month and it is likely to be completed by the first quarter of 2018.”
