Action sought against officials

Malkajgiri: Locals in the Malkajgiri area alleged that local revenue officials were conniving with people who dig up bore wells of 61/2 in violation of norms. They blame the MRO, VRO and others for allowing people to dig heavy bore wells as a result of which the ground water level were depleting in the area. Some people are drilling the bore wells of 1,000 to 2,800 ft and at a close distance. 

People are worried that if such violations continue, there will be a crisis in the summer for water. As per the norms, bore wells of 41/2 are allowed by the MRO but in Malkajgiri, it was quite opposite to it. People in the area demanded the authorities concerned to take immediate action against erring officials.
