MEWA employees demand better treatment

Chandragupta: The members of Minority Employees Welfare Association (MEWA) of the Hyderabad Metro Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) met here at Riyasathnagar reservoir at DRDL road on Wednesday to vent their grievances. The employees allege that they have not been given promotions and some employees from the Housing Board are being posted in the department.

A senior member of MEWA said that the Housing Board employees are not aware of the work at the Water Board and as a result, productivity is hit. The employees elected Akbaruddin Owaisi as its chairman and Ahmed Bin Abdullah Balala as the vice chairman. The employees requested them to solve their problems.

Akbaruddin Owaisi said that all employees of MEWA should be given 40 per cent of discount on Medical in ASRA Hospital. Later he released the MEWA calendar.
