TN sport ‘Silambam’ introduced in TS

Hyderabad: Allipuram Venkateshwar Reddy, Chairman, Sports Authority of Telangana State, attended the press conference of “Silambam” inauguration held at Telangana State Film Development Corporation conference hall, Lakdi Ka Pul.

Indian Silambam Federation, President, Dr. M. Rajendran, IAS introduced Silambam to Telangana State in this press conference where Telangana State Film Development Corporation, Chairman, P. Ram Mohan Rao was also present.

On this occasion, Indian Silambam Federation, President, Dr. M. Rajendran, IAS said that it’s an ancient martial arts of India and every citizen has the responsibility to preserve their tradition, arts, sports, culture and civilisation and organising the tournaments in village level, district and premier leagues.

On this occasion SATS Chairman said that Silambam will be helpful for self protection and Telangana State Government will support and encourage Silambam to organize village level tournaments, district level tournament & Premier League in the state. He said that Olympic Association, Secretary, Prem Raj will help it to go ahead.

TRS leader, Nagi Reddy, Shankar Naik and other officials also attended the press conference.
