Drone survey to help revive Musi!

Charminar:  Bringing relief to many people residing near the banks of River Musi, the State government has decided to carry out an aerial survey of the river in a few days, using drone cameras on the 40 km stretch as a part of the Riverfront Development project to chalk out a master plan in reviving the dying water body. 

At a review meeting held on Thursday, Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao instructed the officials to take forward the Musi River Beautification project to end the woes not just the river water but also of those who are suffocated by the stink emanating from it.

He asked the officials to take help of satellite images if needed and formulate a comprehensive plan for the Riverfront Development. The review meeting was attended by the Musi River Beautification Corporation Chairman Prem Singh Rathode, GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy and other officials concerned.

KTR took stock of the roads that are being laid across the Musi River stretch and instructed the officials to chalk out a plan to lay roads on both sides besides skyways over the river.

The drone survey would be carried out prior to the plan. The Municipal Administration Minister said that new roads and bridges to be constructed across and over the Musi river should reflect the true local culture and art.

He also enquired the progress on development and restoration of tanks or ponds in the outskirts of city. He asked the officials to prepare a sustainable plan for the restoration of tanks inside the Outer Ring Road.

He informed at the meeting that works at Durgam Cheruvu were going at a fast pace and instructed the officials to strengthen the tanks before the rainy season commences.
