Musheerabad: There is no agitation, right from the Razakar one to that of separate Telangana, sans play and songs, observed state BJP President Dr K Laxman on Monday. Play and songs had a crucial role in the Telangana agitation, he remarked after inaugurating the ‘ata, pata’ programme by the Jana Chaitanya Kalamandali as part of the five-day event being organised by the party’s cultural wing at Tyagaraya Ganasabha.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Laxman accused the TRS government of ignoring the contribution of many poets and artists during the separate Telangana movement and failing to invite them to the World Telugu Conference. He described this as ‘unfortunate’.

The BJP leader stated that the Mandali would play an active role with its play and songs while highlighting the State government’s failures during the campaign for the 2019 Assembly elections.

Among the party leaders present were Baddam Bal Reddy, Ramesh Ram, convener, cine hero Vaibhav, music director Anand Mantra, lyricist Mallik, Venkatesh. Sainath, Arun, Uday, besides artists.
