Uppal roads turn from bad to worse

Uppal: Swaroop Reddy colony in Uppal has bad roads and poor road safety measures. While colony people have complained about the issue for a long time, but no action has been taken.

 Assosciation member of the colony Mahendar Reddy  told The Hans India that ‘this colony is  existing from the past 10 years but till now there are no proper roads in this colony and  during rainfall roads become horrible and we can’t even walk. People who stay in this colony face serious problem.

He also told that there is a Sanjana Malathi complex in colony and 100 above families stays in this apartment, students, womens and senior citizens face lot of obstacles to walk. Heavy vehicles pass from this colony to south swaroop nagar and the smoke of sand lorries make us ill.

"Due to bad roads we see accidents very frequently - not the fatal ones, but small accidents because of the bad roads," he said.

 Recently a pregnant lady was coming alone and she fell down because of the bad road. Employees who come in late night from their work face a lot of troubles. Most important problem in this colony is street dogs, most of the time colony people gave a complaint to GHMC but no action, till now 3 childrens and 2 persons were bitten by dogs.

There is a home for poor children, Auxilium Navajeevana, in this colony in this home there are small children they scared to come out from home because of street dogs and bad roads, Mahendar Reddy said.
