Ramya, a social activist says, “It used to be considered a space only for men. Women and transgender never entered them but now there are so many changes in people and their thinking.

But at some places, yet even if there are toilets for women, many never use it because they think it is not hygienic but holding pee for long time can create so many problems for health adds Ramya. GHMC has improved with all the cleanliness and looking forward for more public toilets in Hyderabad.

Ganga, an architect  says, “Even though a toilet is a necessity, it is always found in the backyard, in a filthy corner away from the public eye. The irony is that it is inside in a toilet that you shed all exterior pretensions; it is a place where you are really honest! But not going to toilets and thinking about comfortable zone is worst instead, so better to use them’  she adds.

Karthik, a student said: ‘It has become a regular mania for men that they think it is ok! To pee on roads, I concur there are men who have distorted and started using public toilets but at the same time there are people who are not appalling and yet to continue to do same things, and one thing I noticed is GHMC people has improved when comes to cleanliness’.
