Attention diversion gang busted

Hyderabad: The Afzalgunj police arrested three members of inter-state gang who were involved in attention diversion cases. They robbed the passengers, while offering them to drop at their destination in an auto.

According to police, the accused were identified as Md Irshad, 42, labour, native of Uttar Pradesh, Md Feroz Khan, 30, auto driver and resident of Borabanda in city and Md Shakeer, 40, rickshaw puller and resident of Delhi. 

The gang targeted the lone passengers by offering them to help reach their destination. Enroute they overpower the passenger and commit theft of cash and other items. 

The police took the gang members into custody after finding them suspicious, during routine vehicle checking on Tuesday. Previously, two accused were involved in several theft cases and were also sent to jail by Karkhana police station.
