Poor quality work irks locals

Petbasheerabad:  The ongoing construction works of traffic and transport at Suchitra cross road junction are not up to the standards, allege locals. The state government finalised the contracts for construction of boundaries either side of the National Highway at Suchitra. The works are worth Rs 40 lakh. 

The GHMC will release funds for this works. After observing the quality of the works, locals complain that filter sand is being used for construction. A retired engineer said AE and work inspector have to check the ongoing works periodically, but such things are not happening. 

Due to lack of official supervision, the quality of work is become sub-standard. They are mixing less cement with sub-standard sand for the construction, it is alleged. The low-quality works will not last for long. When The Hans India asked AE Sathish about the issue, he said action would be taken if any misdeeds take place.
