Eating roadside fast food harmful

Hyderabad: Fast food is known to be high in fat, sugar and salt, and frequent consumption of fast-food may contribute to a diet of poor quality, which may raise a consumer’s risk for overweight and chronic diseases that are diet-related which causes heart disease and hypertension.That said, fast food can not be healthy at every street corner, especially when one comes across Alywn cross roads.

People at ‘Alwyn colony’ are complacent about health thus, are practicing it.Eating junk street food is not only bad for your health but also lead to stomach problems arising from unhygienic conditions. Street food options are always tempting but be cautious about indulging in it as you may contract gastrointestinal infections.

Health aware Prapti said, “Most types of street foods here are generally prepared in the openand there is a chance of contamination in water. The stalls are sometimes located near open drains, where there is a chance of contamination with coliform bacteria that can cause serious diarrhea disease and the water used for preparing street food favourites like golgappa’s is likely to be contaminated, and there is a chance of contracting water-borne diseases like cholera and typhoid in this way.”

A worker at the shop saidthe customers here come often because of the taste we provide andnot every person has issues with it also we are not supposed to work openly butundoubtedly,we are working our needs and making sure there is no bad taste in the food provided.

Student Raghav said, “I more prefer pizzas and panipuri’s but one negativity thing I feel about the fast food is that the fruit juices from street vendors are kept in the open and served later and there are increasing chances of contamination also,there are chances that the glasses and other items will not be clean.”
