Science Exhibition at Survey of India

Uppal:  Indian Institute of Surveying & Mapping, Uppal conducted the "Science Exhibition" 2018 and the theme of its exhibition was "Science and technology for a sustainable future". It was inaugurated by U.N Gurjar, Additional Surveyor General. P.V Srinivas Raju, Director, AP& Telangana GDC, Sunil S Fatehpur, Director GIS & RS, P.M Parfathe, Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Uppal. PV Srinivas Raju were present at the inauguration of this exhibition . 

Indian Institute of Surveying & Mapping, Uppal, is the top most institute in South Asia for training of officers/staff from govt organizations, private individuals and Scholars from Afro-Asian countries in the fields of Surveying and Cartography. M.Sc & M.Tech two year  degree courses are also conducted in collaboration with Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University, Hyderabad.

Director/Deputy Survey General Taher Mustafa said that after 250 years service to the nation (1767 - 2017) Ministry of Science and Technology, has developed its process in the field of mapping. ‘Earlier we used chain for measuring the distance but now we are using (GPS) which stands for Global Positioning System and by the use of technology we have digitalised the process of mapping. 

Mapping and survey is the ongoing process of Survey Of India, We provide expertise training to the students and to the govt department people. Typographical maps for international boundaries, national, state, water resources, and many prestigious projects are the main subjects of Survey Of India and it is the advisory body to the central Govt.  Indian Institute of Surveying & Mapping . 

He added that students come from different countries like Thailand, Saudi, Bhutan and many more. At present our main project is National hetero-logical project all over India, we have professional employees and best teaching staff. Survey of India is the oldest department of India.
