Ajanta Gate area residents seek houses
Goshamahal: Residents, including several women, of the Ajanta Gate area nala in front of the Exhibition Grounds in this division on Tuesday represented to former minister Mukesh Goud that the Revenue department officials were preventing them from erecting huts in the area in place of those burnt in the past.
They went to Goud’s camp office seeking protection with a plea to be allowed to put up huts again. The residents told him that they have been staying in the area for years and could not be asked to leave suddenly and face an uncertain future. They stated that only some residents have been allotted houses.
Responding to their plea, Goud stated that he would take up the issue with officials, including the RDO and the collector, and initiate steps to ensure allotment of double bed room houses to the residents. Among those who met the former minister were Srinivas, Pasha, Ravi, Jagapathi, Shekhar and women leaders Anjibai, Lakshmi, Sujata, Panni, Gousia Begum.
