Artistes enrapture audience in the new open air auditorium
Siddipet: The newly constructed Open Air Auditorium on the bund of Komati Cheruvu at Siddipet was inaugurated by Telangana Major Irrigation Minister, Siddipet MLA Harish Rao on Thursday evening.
A three-day extravaganza with cultural and artistic celebrations from March 1st to 3rd, was launched following the inauguration of the Auditorium. The program packed with cultural artistic performances by exponents with fill degree of pomp which enthralled the audience throughout the event.
The event was attended by Sahitya Academy Chairman N Sidha Reddy, Telangana government Advisor of Culture and Tourism, Language and Culture Secretary Mamidi Harikrishna, Chairman of State Cultural Council Rasamayi Balakrishna, Medak MP Prabhakar Reddy,
Dubbaka MLA Ramalinga Reddy, Chief Whip MLC P Sudhakar Reddy, MLC Farukh Hussain, State Beverages Corporation Chairman P Deviprasad, CMO OSD Desapti Srinivas, poet Gorati Venkanna, State Cultural Department B, Collector P Venkatram Reddy, Siddipet Municipal Chairman Rajanarsu and others.
The inauguration of the Auditorium constructed at the cost of Rs. 6.25 crore with the capacity of 2000 audience was done by the Minister Harish Rao following a cultural rally of 11 artistic forms like folk dance, drums playing, performances of folk, tribal, and rural cultural artistes that took out from Clock Tower at the heart of the town to the Open Auditorium where it was thrown open to the public situated on the tank bund of Komati Cheruvu in Siddipet Town.
the Auditorium, which was fully packed with visitors and audiences, and the premises of Komati Cheruvu - an urban tourism spot developed with several amusement facilities like adventure Park for children, boating, Yoga centre, lush greenary, selfie spot Love Siddipet sculpture, etc, were illuminated with colourful led lights.
Thousands of people with their families thronged to the picnic spot where, on Thursday, several enthralling performances were carried out.
Following 'Sankshema Gaana Lahari' - interpreting the government welfare schemes performed by troupe of Samskrutika Kalaa Sarathi for an hour, a march past of Art forms and a spellbinding performance of a medley of five classical art forms by Promod Redy's troupe followed by 'mime act' by renowned artist Mime Madhu and Fusion Dance by certified classical dancer Vaishnavi Sainath with his team on the first day of the fete.
Later, Minister Harish Rao addressed the gathering at the event. He reiterated that Komati Cheruvu would become a popular tourism spot in the state after Hyderabad City.
The Siddipet Legislator announced that the picnic spot will also have more amenities for people of with cultural shilaparamam, Botanical garden, night Bazaar, indoor AC Auditorium to make it a best amusement place. The Minister also mentioned that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had sanctioned Rs. 25 crore more funds for the upliftment of the area of the waterfront.
"The auditorium should become a place for the arts and culture of the state in regular format in a grand manner", aspired the Minister.
As the first felicitation to the artistes at the newly constructed art stadium was done to the public poet Gorati Venkanna. A Cash prize of Rs. 50,000 was awarded to the popular poet who enlivened the spectators with his folk songs which went like a rush of adrenaline.
Then the first day's episode of the event came to a close with the classical rendition of various film songs by Ramachary and his troupe. The three-day art-fest will entertain the art lovers in the evening hours of Friday and Saturday with the learned mimicry artistes and singers and musicians like Vandemataram Srinivas.
