Areas in Old City like Phisalbanda, Hazrat Barhane Shah, Talab Katta, Yakuthpura, Moghalpura, Misri Gunj, Alaibad, Saidabad, Madannapet, Champapet, Nampally and others had a lot of land for grave yards and crematories in proportion to the population.

However, the authorities could not provide enough land for for the ever growing population in city. While lack of land is one reason, the laxity on part of officials can be other reason.

Lack of space in graveyards resulted in making the burial more burdensome for every one and spaces are available at high prices. Space at noted graveyards could be around Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 and every one cannot afford this.

Moreover, graveyard committees are providing space only if the deceased belong to the same area. There are many areas which does not graveyards.

Aziz Pasha, caretaker of Dargah Hazrat Syed Ujale Shah, said that there was no much place in the Graveyard and it was so congested since most of the graves were made of concrete and cement.

A family is residing inside the graveyard premises with pucca house and availing all the basic amenities. On the other hand the area facing main road is under use for commercial purposes.

M Shreedhar Rao, Hindu Smashana Vatika, said that there were 3 Graveyards under their management located at I.S.Sadan, Madannapet and Saidabad. He said that cremation at these crematoriums was allowed irrespective of the locality of the deceased.
