Separate federation for Meru community sought

Musheerabad: Meru Welfare Trust Chairman Madishetty Lakshminarayana on Wednesday demanded a separate federation for the Meru community.
Speaking at the Tailors’ Day celebrations to mark the birthday of sewing machine founder Willam Hu organised by the trust, at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram, urged the State government to empower the Meru federation units in mamdals to stitch uniforms to students of the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan and SC, ST and BC institutions.
Lakshminarayana appealed to the government to allow the federation to stitch clothes of the RTC and Police department staff.Among those present were Trust President K Chandrasekhar, K Jnaneshwar, Kiran, Nagayya.
