Irrigation Minister reviews on Kaleshwaram project
Siddipet: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Friday held a review meeting regarding the progress and litigation issues of land acquisition of packages of 10, 11 and 12 which are going through in Siddipet and Siricilla districts.
Siddipet Collector P Venkat Ram Reddy, Siricilla Collector Krishna Bhaskar and Joint Collectors Padmakar, Yasmin Bhasha and DRO Chandrasekhar, Irrigation Chief Engineer Hari Ram and officials of Revenue and Irrigation from both the districts attended the meeting at Integrated Collector Complex at Siddipet.
The Minister said the reservoirs of Ananthagiri, Ranganayaka Sagar and Mallanna Sagar and their catchment areas are spread in both the districts causing litigations in terms of differences in compensation for land acquisition and delay of the project works.
The Minister directed the officials to work with coordination and with the same wavelength to solve the issues of breaking the continuity in the works of canals of awarding best compensation to the farmers in the both the districts.
Works of Tunnel, pump house and surge pool under package-9 and canal works in the two adjacent districts should go on simultaneously without any delay, ordered the lawmaker who noted that the Mid-Maneru reservoir was the heart of the entire Kaleshwaram project. Already the reservoir of which the construction is almost completed, was filled with 5 TMC ft water and the full capacity of 29 TMC ft will be fulfilled by June of this year to make it available for this Kharif season, said the Minister.
