A home of hope
Ghatkesar: “I believe there are three essential elements - faith, love and hope. Out of these three, love is considered as the greatest. It has been said that a man can live without food for 40 days, without water for three days and without air for eight minutes, but he can’t survive a moment without hope,” says Jeevan Rao Founder & President of Asha Kuteer.
These words ring true as one can see the love and affection that is present at Asha Kuteer-meaning ‘Home of hope’ that he started for orphans. Loss in love life, followed by a losing his job and tough times at home left him dejected and led to depression.
He was also admitted at the mental hospital in Hyderabad.
Many lose hope but Jeevan Rao regrouped himself and decided that he would give as much love as possible for people especially children and that is how he started Asha Kuteer in January 2013 with four orphans.
Today there are 48 children. In addition to basic needs like food, shelter, education, and access to medical care orphanage is able to raise support for uniforms, shoes, bags, notebooks, lunch box, lunch basket, water bottle, snacks box and stationary items. One can sponsor a child by donating Rs 20,000 per year. All donations are exempted from tax under Section 80-G.
