Somajiguda: Indian Development Foundation (IDF) conducted a Tuberculosis awareness programme at Press Club Hyderabad on Monday. The event was organised to release the multilingual posters for Tuberculosis awareness.
Multilingual awareness posters were released on this occasion which will be helpful in connecting a link between patients and doctors for early detection and cure of this malicious disease for the upcoming world TB day which is on March 24.
The captain of the Indian Women's cricket team Mithali Raj is the brand ambassador for the TB awareness programme. Quotes “India Jeetaga, TB haarega”, Mithali also says TB is curable lets strike it out’ were listed out. Dr Narayan Iyer said’India is the world capital for TB now and world is planning to wipeout TB by the year 2030, we will do it before 2030,as compared to other diseases TB can be cured in a faster way’.
Tuberculosis is responsible for about 480,000 deaths in every year, which is about 1400 everyda. One million cases are not notified and remain undiagnosed or inadequately treated in private sector, despite the fact that India as a nation has been engaged in TB control for over 50 years now.
Considering the facts IDF is reaching millions of students throughout educational institutions in India distributing posters to create awareness, as IDF is also a partner of Stop TB Partnership of World Health Organisation WHO working together to fight Tuberculosis in India.
