Stress on economic self-reliance of women

 Parigi: Women are proving their mettle and giving tough competition to their male counterparts in all sectors of activity whether it is the police department, general administration, politics, putting up hard labour in farm work and leaving their indelible mark in whatever endeavour they undertake. 

In spite of their progress in various sectors, atrocities on women became a regular feature. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, several have voiced their concern on how women should groom themselves.

Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya special officer C Sarita said that Women should become mentally strong as to face the atrocities being perpetrated on women boldly. Women should become educated and strive to attain dizzy heights in society. If the mother is educated the whole family is educated. 

According to Sarpanch of Parigi Antigari Vijayamala, 50 per cent quota for women in politics had benefited her and many women. Women should not be limited to the four walls of their homes alone and should put their best foot forward and prove their critics wrong. They should balance both home and office of politics to render justice to their role in society. They should forge ahead by crossing hurdles. 

According to DWCRA self-help group member Sameena Begum, economic independence gives identity to women in society. Expressing concern over women being looked down upon, she said that her economic independence held the key. Women should take calculated steps to ensure their economic progress. 

Rajaka Sangham Director C Vanaja desired that women should shine their best in all spheres of activity. They should balance work and home and excel in all spheres of activity with their best performance so that her importance will be made known to one and all.
