Parigi:  Koppula Pratima Reddy, spouse of Vikarabad District Farmers’ Coordination Committee President Koppula Harishwar Reddy, has attributed women competing with men in all sectors of activity to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

Participating in Women’s Day celebrations held here on Thursday, she called for providing reservation for women in many more sectors.

Vikarabad District TRS Mahila President Swapna exhorted women to achieve total literacy for their development. In spite of passing many laws to check atrocities against women, they are still dogging women. Women would be able to face any problem provided they are brave.

Parigi Sarpanch Vijayamala along with Pratima Reddy felicitated the munsif court judge Bharati by presenting her with a shawl and garland.
Addressing the gathering, Bharati called upon women to have awareness about the laws to face attacks on them boldly.

Besides awareness of the laws concerning women, they should also have awareness of Indian Constitution, she said.

Compared to earlier, women are shining at their best in various fields of activity, she said adding that men also have had their role in the women’s success.

Expressing concern over atrocities being perpetrated against college girls, she pinned the blame on parents for the bad behaviour of children – whether they are boys or girls.  The responsibility of leading children on good path squarely rested with the parents.

She advised mother to behave friendly with girls so that the daughters will share their problems with mothers. Parents should infuse confidence among daughters instead of abusing them if they encounter any untoward incidents.

She appealed to people in general and girls in particular not to take the extreme step of committing the suicide acting on the spur of the moment. She called upon them to fight injustice boldly.

Village Sarpanch Vijayamala spoke. MPDO Vijayappa and TRS leader Surender Kumar and others took part in the celebrations.
