Upgradation of Cherlapally Rly Stn at Rs 227 crore

Cherlapally: A Railway officers team visited Cherlapally Railway Station on Friday along with BJP Local MLA NVSS Prabhakar. The visit and inspection was for two hours in which they decided to upgrade and develop the Cherlapally station into a satellite terminal station with escalators, foot over  bridges , 

platform shelters and four more new platforms with station house ,ticket booking counters and all civic amenities for the passengers . This terminal is going to be useful for the outskirts residents. Stopping of some important Express trains will also be considered shortly.

As of now trains like Krishna Express, Sabhari Express  and Repalle passenger trains are stopping here .The overall development will be taken up in the available 50 acres of Railway land only .The total project cost is nearly Rs 227 crore.

Last month the Uppal MLA met the Railway Minister Piyush Goel in Central Hall and submitted a representation for over all development of both Cherlapally and Moulali stations and MMTS Phase 2 which are located in Uppal constituency. As per the direction of the Minister, GM Railways Vinod Kumar had a detailed meeting with the MLA about the proposals . The visiting team consisted of Subramanyam infrastructure  DGM Durgaprasad  DGM, Christopher, Sumeet Technical, Ramesh Station Manager.
