City surgeon to head SAARC Surgical Care Society

Hyderabad: Dr. P. Raghu Ram, Director, KIMS- Ushalakshmi Centre for Breast Diseases & immediate Past President of The Association of Breast Surgeons of India has been appointed Chairman - International Affairs for SAARC Surgical Care Society for a two year period from 2018 - 2020.

Dr Shiva Misra, President of SAARC Surgical Care Society has announced this unanimous decision made at the Executive Committee meeting of this Surgical Organisation held today in Chennai based upon Dr Raghu Ram’s academic track record reputation of a high order that he enjoys world over.

SAARC Surgical Care Society represents the interests of Surgeons & Surgical Trainees practicing the art & science of Surgery in all eight South Asian Countries - ie., India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Afghanistan & Maldives.

The Royal College of Surgeons of England, one of the oldest Surgical Colleges in the world has agreed to Dr Raghu Ram’s proposal to partner with SAARC Surgical Society.
Under this Partnership agreement, 

bright young Surgical Trainees from SAARC countries who have completed three years of Surgical Training from their respective Countries would be selected based upon merit & the Royal College would assist these selected doctors in identifying placements for them to obtain two years of ‘hands on’ advanced Surgical training (paid jobs) at Centres of excellence in England.
