Manipal varsity team wins best 2-minute film contest at MANUU
Gachibowli: A team of young movie makers from Manipal University led by Aditya Shukla who created Imbue won the best two-minute film award during a national competition organised by Instructional Media Centre of Maulana Azad Nation Urdu University.
The runner up award went to Mother Nature made by Yash Tiwari and his team from Nagpur, Maharashtra. On the other hand, Sanath Yadav and his team from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, were placed third for their film The Writer’s Note.
This was first time that IMC of MANUU had taken the initiative in collaboration with India Film Project to organise an all India competition for the benefits of students and other youngsters to test their talents and win prizes.
Peter Hein who choreographed the iconic film Bahubali was invited for the filmmaking event. He said he was pleasantly surprised at the talents showcased by the participants, especially the winners. The award winners and other participants also came in for critical appreciation from K K Senthil Kumar, the Cinematographer of Bahubali.
Peter Hein, on the other hand, congratulated the film making challenge winners and said it was the result of hard work and imaginative techniques.
Senthil Kumar, interacting with the participants said, that it is a challenging task to complete a 2-minute film with 24 hours. He congratulated the Director IMC Rizwan Ahmad and team for providing the platform to the students to showcase their talents.
The theme of the film was announced on March 6, 24 hour before the process began. Total 136 team were registered from all over the country. The theme of the filmmaking was ‘She can do it too’. In all 40 films were received.Prof Shakeel Ahmad, Pro Vice-Chancellor of MANUU, appreciated the efforts of the participants.
