ABVP leaders held for burning KCR’s effigy

Osmania University: Several ABVP leaders protesting near the Arts College against neglect of universities in the State budget were arrested on Thursday  after they tried to burn Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s effigy. However, they burnt KCR’s effigy near the OU Engineering College. 

The police shifted the arrested leaders to the Ambarpet police station. Among those arrested were ABVP OU in-charge and State Working Committee Member Pagidipalli Srihari, Raghavender, Suman, Srisailam, Chandu , Praveen, Tirumalesh, Naresh, Moin, Karthik, Sura Singh, Naveen.

The protestors raised slogans demanding  allocation of funds to every university in the State and release them,  to increase assistance to OU to Rs1,000 crore to make it a model institution, to constitute academic councils for all varsities in the State & fill all vacant posts, to recover occupied lands of varsities, to set up mining university in Kothagudem.
