Zonal GHMC chief warns revenue staff
Malkajgiri: Zonal GHMC Commissioner J Shankariah on Wednesday held a special meeting with the Revenue staff to discuss collection of the property tax. Addressing them, he warned those who collected less than 60 per cent of the target. The ZC asked the staff to start collecting the levy as per the fixed targets by moving in their respective areas right from 8 am onwards.
Later J Shankariah inspected storm water drain works in Jyotinagar and Uttamnagar colonies, footpath near the Mini-tank bund road and CC road in Srikrishnagar Colony. He instructed the Engineering officials to ensure that the level of manhole covers remained the same as that of the road. The ZC asked officials to ensure that the footpaths are not occupied by petty traders.
While speaking to local residents, he appealed to them to pay property tax and trade licence fee so as to contribute to the development process. Among those who accompanied him during the inspection were Deputy Commissioner K Venugopal, Assistant Medical and Health Officer M Manohar, Engineering officials, AMC Krishna Prasad.
