Tandur:  Agriculture officials have been perusing the claims of farmers returned by the Markfed for want of certificate from AO to disburse money to farmers in lieu of the red gram sold by them. During December 25 and February 9, 11000 farmers sold Rs 1.46 lakh quintals of red gram worth Rs 79.57 crore at an MSP of Rs 5450 a quintal.

Disbursement of money has been done in respect of some farmers crediting it in their bank accounts. But a majority of them did not receive it in their bank accounts. The bills were returned as the farmers failed to submit certificate from the AO.

Agriculture extension officer of Yalal mandal on Tuesday certified the claims of the farmers. Agriculture officer Radha on Wednesday certified the claims of Pet Basheerabad. On Thursday and Friday also the officials certify the claims of farmers of Peddemul and Tandur mandals. District Cooperative Market Society manager Sharif said the certificates are being forwarded online to the Markfed.
